A future-oriented institution
The Institute of Applied Languages and IT in Nabeul (ISLAIN) is born in 2004*. At that time, while the implementation of the newly adopted LMD system was at its early stages, Islain was already delivering Bachelor´s degrees (licences) in Applied Foreign Languages:
Since then, our mission has continuously evolved. From June 2008 the Institute has adopted the LMD system, to which it was naturally prepared as the curriculum included from the very beginning three-year Bachelor´s degrees called Licences appliquées. Our mission has also evolved through the introduction of new programs, allowing the institution to refocus on its original purpose i.e. teaching foreign languages for specific purposes.
While a number of programs such as the Bachelor´s degree in applied languages and in multimedia and information technology disappeared, they have nonetheless left a lasting imprint on the current education programs: reinforcement of the teaching staff in terms of composition and skills in the areas of multimedia, integration of ICT in teaching languages and openness to many European languages.
In September 2010-2011, Islain started two new Bachelor´s Degrees:
Our last students of the former Programs (Modern Languages and IT) will graduate in June 2011.
Our mission changed over time but our core values remain unchanged: openness to the world and closeness to the business community.
