Rules and Regulation

I. Conduct, courtesy and appropriate behavior

The following are examples of inappropriate behavior which may result in disciplinary action:

  1. Disrespect or exhibiting a lack of respect or courteous regard towards students or official duty staff / faculty members and employees inside and outside the institute. Non compliance with the administrative guidelines and teachers´ instructions.
  2. Infringement to the dress code or wearing clothes that would reflect sectarian affiliations foreign to our identity and our traditions
  3. Dirt, disorder or damage to common areas and equipment in the Institute.
  4. Smoking, eating and drinking in the classrooms, the library or the corridors.
  5. Writing on tables and walls.
  6. Staying in the classrooms and in the corridors outside of class hours.
  7. Refusing to show the student card upon request to any teacher or member of the administration.
  8. Using mobile phones within the institute.

II. Class Attendance

Students are expected to conform to the following rules:

  1. Respect the teaching hours (start and end). No student will be accepted 5 minutes after the beginning of the class.
  2. Refrain from leaving the room during or before the end of the course, except in cases of force majeure and after the permission of the teacher.
  3. Attendance is compulsory for all sessions of tutorials, practical works or comprehensive courses. Where applicable and if the maximum number of permitted absences is exceeded, the student will not be allowed to stand for the exam at the main session of the relevant teaching unit.

Number of permitted absences per semester:
-6 absences per teaching unit lasting 4 hours or more per week.
-4 absences per teaching unit lasting 3 hours or more per week.
-2 absences per teaching unit lasting 1h30mn or more per week.

  1. Notes and announcements displayed in the lobby of the institute must be carefully read. No student can claim to be unaware of the displayed information.
  2. Attendance of make-up sessions are submitted to the same rules those of attendance as ordinary sessions.
  3.  Students shall wait for their teachers for 15 minutes after the start of the session before leaving the room quietly

III. Exams

  1. The academic year is divided into two semesters, each completed with an examination. The yearly average is counted according to the coefficients of the subjects taught.
  2. The continual assessment can be a class assignment, an oral test or a presentation.
  3. A zero is assigned to each student missing an assessed assignment or an exam whatever the reasons.
  4. Any student who commits or attempts to commit fraud goes before the Disciplinary Board which can impose sanctions.
  5. Any student who hands in a 'blank' exam sheet must write the phrase:  'I submit a blank sheet' and sign it.

VI. Cultural Activities and Sports

  1. All students have the opportunity to participate in cultural and sporting activities within the various cultural clubs and sports team of the institute under the auspices of the latter.
  2. Students enrolled in a sports or cultural club at the institute are required to regularly attend activities of this club and to respect its rules.
  3. Students shall comply with the instructions of the supervising staff and protect the clubs´ equipment.

V. Library


1. Students are expected to respect the peace and quiet within the Library.
2. Students who want to borrow books need a library card, which is an individual document and shall in no circumstances be used by a third party.
3. The borrower is liable for damage to or loss of the publications he has borrowed. The damage (writing, tearing, or deterioration) or loss may result in a penalty up to twice the value of the book. The Administration will decide of the penalty amount as well as of the disciplinary measures if necessary.
4. Students must keep the library clean.
